Mayoral Challenge
Sunday 20th February is the Mayoral Challenge as part of Bike wise month
The challenge will be held at Pohe Island, and consists of a few laps around a very friendly course with the Mayor ( or his deputy as the Mayor is unwell ). Every cyclist who registers will be in the draw to win a new Avanti Discovery bike and helmet. This is a prime opportunity to show the Mayor and the Media that there are plenty of cyclists in Whangarei who care about their Sport / pastime, and that we need more cycle ways and cycle lanes. I would strongly encourage everybody who has an interest to attend if only for half an hour or so. Registration is from 8.30am and the ride starts at 9.30am. I realise that many of you ride at this time on a Sunday but I am sure you could incorporate this into your ride, either before or after. I would encourage all Marsden Wheelers members to wear their Club kit as this shows we have a club and are organised. The BMX club will be there in force with club T shirts also.
