Place: Kara Road Hall, Maungatapere. The courses are on Kokopu Road
Age Groups: Under 15, Under 17, Under 20 - Boys and Girls

1. 4.8 km time trial (Individual timed ride) for all age groups. Start at 30 second intervals. Start at Kokopu School from 10.45 am.
2. Road race (riders start together in each category) Starts 15 minutes after the last rider finishes the time trial. Start on Kokopu Road near end of Kara Road.
• Under 20 boys and girls – 2 1/2 laps of course (34km)
• Under 17 boys and girls – 2 1/2 laps (34 km)
• Under 15 boys and girls – 1 lap (14.5 km)
• MTB/New riders (non championship event) 1 lap of circuit (14.5 km)
Riders can do one event if they wish but are not eligible for overall honours. Championship medals will be given to the first male and female riders in each age group who have the fastest combined time trial and road race time. Marsden Wheelers Trophies to fastest overall boy and girl. Spot prizes donated by Avanti Plus Whangarei.
The prize giving will be held after the finish of racing.
Rules: Road or mountain bikes may be used.
All bikes must have safe tyres and effective front and rear brakes.
All riders must wear a correctly fastened bicycle helmet.
No aero bars are to be used in the time trial or the road race.
Gear limits will not be applied but licenced juniors are expected to ride restricted gears.
The roads will be open to traffic so road rules must be obeyed at all times.
How to get there: From State Highway 14 turn into Kara Road at top of Maungatapere Hill. Kara Hall is 5 km down Kara Road on left hand side.
There are toilets and changing facilities in the hall where prize giving will take place after racing. Please bring your own water and food. Tea, coffee and hot chocolate will be supplied in hall.
